A fine example of a late Victorian desk organiser. Made by the Birmingham company, J & E Ratcliff, it is of pressed brass with a metal spring mechanism. This model, a hand with an elegant cuff, bracelet and ring, set on a cartouche-shaped base, is clearly stamped with the makers name. Circa 1870
